Up to 50% grants for equipment and machinery now available to apply for
Up to 50% grants for equipment and machinery now available to apply for

With only two weeks left to apply for grants through the Farm Equipment and Technology Fund, now is the time to act if you would like to apply here.

Funding is available for a number of items, under three differing themes, being:

  • Productivity

  • Slurry management

  • Animal health & welfare

Sadly, grant applications will be scored competitively, meaning an application will not guarantee funding, but as they say you have to be in it to win it!

Funding is available here at a maximum rate of 50% of a set average cost, giving a fixed grant rate for each item, which must meet a set specification, but the scope of items available is wide. The minimum grant available here is £1000, so depending on the items you claim, multiple items may be required to meet this. If offered, you then have 9 months to purchase the item - which cannot be purchased using finance, and then you will have a further three months to claim back the grant funding, with supporting information.

Some examples of items you can apply for here include the following:

  1. Productivity items:

    • Retro fitted yield monitoring for crop harvesters

    • Assisted steer system

    • Grassland Sward lifter

    • Weed wiper

  2. Slurry management

    • Robotic pusher

    • Nurse tanks

    • Application equipment, to include dribble bars, injection systems and trailing shoes

  3. Animal health & welfare

    • Sheep/cattle handling systems

    • EID readers

    • Weigh equipment

    • Footbaths

    • Water bowsers with integrated troughs

    • Vermin proof feed storage

    • Cow brushes

    • Heat lamps for young stock
