Small Grants Scheme for Farmers opens in 2018
The Countryside Productivity Small Grant Scheme has now opened for 2018. Farmers, including those in the horticulture, dairy, arable and livestock sectors are invited to put forward online applications for grants of between £3,000 and £12,000, which can cover up to 40% of your total cost.
Grants are available for improvements in one of the three following sectors:
1. Animal Welfare
2. Resource Efficiency
3. Nutrient Management
Items that may be eligible for grant include cattle handling systems, calving detectors, electronic weighing systems, GPS units, trailing shoe slurry systems or dribble bars, digital weather stations and automatic grain stirring equipment.
Applications must be submitted prior to Midday on Wednesday 14th March 2018. In order to submit an application you must be registered with the Rural Payments Agency and have a Customer Reference Number and Single Business Identifier number. If you are successful in getting a grant, all items must be bought and claimed for within 150 calendar days of getting the grant.
